First (Successful) Homemade Nut Butter

A big bag of macadamia nuts. A cup and a half of almonds. A box of unshelled pecans. What to do? Make nut butter of course! After all, everything is better with nut butter. I was very excited to finally properly make my own as I have seen so many homemade butters that look delicious. This was cheap, used up nuts I was never going to use otherwise, and very easy. (Except for cleaning the blender-I need a processer in the worst way!) The result? Just the right balance of creamy and crunchy and excellent flavor for being raw.

                     Macadamia, Pecan, and Almond Honey Nut Butter


About 15 pecans

1.5 c. almonds

About 15 macadamia nuts

1 T. Honey (I used raw)


Combine nuts and honey in food processor and process until mix turns creamy and the nuts begin releasing some of their fat. If needed, add 1 T. water or almond milk. (This process took me about 5 minutes)

After making this, I scraped it into a leftover Maranatha jar and put a cute handwritten label on it.  Delicious on toast, apples, oatmeal, and particularily on Kath’s Banana “Hot Dog”.
