Key Lime Pie Green Smoothie

I had been wanting to make a Key Lime Pie Smoothie for literally ages, but failed to do so until now because I was scared of having a Smoothie Flop. A Smoothie Flop is the when you try a new recipe for a smoothie, happily blend up all of your (extensive and expensive) ingredients, and then promptly gag when you take the first sip. They are tragic experiences. Anyways, as I watched the lime juice slowly curdle the yogurt (not exactly a pretty picture), I thought for sure this one was doomed for the flop list. However, it turned out spectacular and tastes exactly, almost scarily, like a key lime pie! Seriously, this smoothie made me keep looking over my shoulder to make sure no one was watching me guiltily eat pie for breakfast.

Key Lime Pie Green Smoothie

Ingredients: 

Juice of 2-3 limes + a bit of zest

1 cup almondmilk

1 tablespoon plain yogurt (for tartness)

1 frozen banana

1 or 2 handfuls spinach

Flaxseed

Spirulina Powder

a bit of vanilla protein powder (optional)

Directions:

Blend until smooth. I highly suggest topping with a few crumbled natural and low sugar graham crackers:)
