Here are more benefits that reasearch has proven recently on eating natural soy:
- One study showed you can cut five points from your total cholesterol by eating soy foods instead of red meat.
- Women who eat soy as children may enjoy a 60% decrease in breast cancer risk. (info from health.com)
So with that in mind, I set out to make tasty tofu. Not the tofu that has the consistency that’s as appetizing as dog food, no. Rather, the amazing little squares of baked tofu that can convert any soy-hater into a fan, with a BBQ twist!
BBQ Baked Tofu Squares
1 block tofu, cubed into 1 inch pieces
2 T. BBQ sauce
1 T. Braggs or non-gmo soy sauce
2 T. apple cider vinegar
1 T. Ketchup
1/2 tsp. mustard powder or 1/4 tsp. cayenne
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients except for tofu together. Lay tofu evenly on a baking sheet (lined with foil!) and pour the mixture over the tofu. Coat evenly. Bake for 35 minutes, turning halfway through.
They serve as an amazing and filling base for brown rice and veggie hippie bowls!
…or are fantastic alongside roasted broccoli!
Any way you serve them, they must be magic, since I’ve managed to convert numerous tofu-haters already!
And a few Saturday bests…
In a battle with the maybe the worst soil on the planet and with the help of Starbuck’s coffee grounds, My beet sprouted! Yay!
Along with a Straight to Your Heart Juice from Greens and Proteins. Perfection.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and get your soy joy on!:)
