Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie & MGN’s Smoothie Week!

There is a National Whipped Cream Day (January 5th), and National Nutella Day (February 6th), a National Catfish Day (June 25th), and even a National Junk Food Day (July 21st)! However, no matter how vast it may appear that holiday list is lacking something major. That something is a “National Green Smoothie Day”. So, without further adieu, I am proclaiming this week Healthy Smoothie Week! I will be featuring new smoothie recipes all week with the exception of Wednesday for WIAW, so be sure to visit back soon:) And what better way to start off with than this decadent yet nutrient packed Chocolate Covered Raspberry Smoothie?


1/2 c. frozen raspberries (try to get these organic if you can)

1/2 frozen banana

2 cups spinach

1.5 cups almond milk

1 scoop chocolate protein powder (or sub 1 T. cocoa powder)

1 T. flaxseed

Shredded coconut, coconut oil, or coconut butter (optional)

Boosts (optional)


Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.

This smoothie is extra rich topped off with granola, coconut, cashews, or maca powder like I did. Anyway you customize, it’s sure to be a keeper:)

 The Stats with cocoa powder-if you use protein powder they will be even better!

  2. This smoothies sounds so good! It’s a little cold where I am for smoothies right now, but it’s supposed to warm up over the weekend so I might have to try this out!

    • Smoothies are always best in warm weather, but I love them so much that I make just as many in the winter and just put on sweaters haha;) Thanks for visiting!
